Acupuncture and Moxibustion

Acupuncture supports the flow and balance of Qi (energy) by stimulating your body’s healing response using the insertion of fine needles into specific points on the body. The needles are left in for 10 to 20 minutes.

I use extremely fine sterile needles that are almost painless for most people. You may feel some sensation of dullness, tingling or warmth in the area needled. This can indicate that the Qi is being activated.

Moxibustion uses a warming herb on points or areas of the body. It’s very effective if you are feeling the cold in the winter months, strengthening your yang Qi, or more active Qi. I also use it when treating women who have difficulty conceiving to warm their tummy and encourage a good blood flow to the uterus. Some muscular aches and pains respond well to the warmth of the moxa, which helps to relax and relieve spasms.
